Brecon Lodge is ideally placed to reach central Cardiff. Fast buses run every 8 minutes throughout the day, and drop you off outside the Millennium Stadium or St. David's Shopping Mall, both in the city centre. Go to Central or Queen Street Stations for either the Millenium Stadium or shops and theatres.

Penarth itself has attractive gardens which are full of colourful species of flora suited to the sea. Each summer, the parks and roundabouts in Penarth are planted with thousands of colourful plants, hence the name The Garden by the Sea

Opened in 1894, Penarth pier was damaged in 1947 when a former U.S. Liberty Ship hit the pier broadside on. Repaired shortly afterwards, the Pier is now in splendid shape; and admission is free.
