Set in beautiful Carmarthenshire countryside Bryngwenyn Farm offers a choice of Bed and Breakfast or self-catering holidays. You may choose to stay in the Farmhouse in one of our comfortable ensuite double bedrooms or in one of the three tastefully converted cottages situated just across the yard. Or you could even stay in a cottage and come over to the Farmhouse to sample one of our delicious cooked breakfasts. The choice is yours........

Farmhouse
The Farmhouse accommodation comprises two en-suite double bedrooms with far reaching views over the Gwendreath Valley. The bedrooms are fully equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, dressing table, hairdryer, and a colour television with either a video or DVD player. Bedroom 1 has an ensuite bathroom and Bedroom 2 an ensuite shower room.

Bryngwenyn Farm Breakfast is served in the in the dining room and a sitting room is available for our guests to use should they wish to do so.

The Cottages
The three self-catering Cottages are situated just across the yard from the farmhouse and are conversions of a former barn. They are comfortably furnished and sleep up to five adults with either two or three bedrooms. Each cottage is fully equipped with an electric cooker, fridge-freezer, microwave, colour TV and Video or DVD player. Heating is by night storage with additional electric "log burning stoves".

A washing machine and tumble dryer is available on site for guests to use.

The cottages have a large shared garden with swings and a new willow wigwam which should have grown well by the summer holidays. There is a picnic bench for each cottage and at the side a patio area with tables and chairs where guests can enjoy a barbecue in the evening sunshine.

The Farm
We are an organic farm of about 60 acres with a flock of 80 Lleyn and Suffolk-cross ewes some pedigree Welsh Black suckler cows and some rare breed Balwen sheep

Derek a Welsh Cob and Eddie a Miniature Shetland came to us from the RSPCA. They are both very quiet and friendly. Eddie was featured on television in an RSPCA campaign against cruelty to animals.

Cleo and Gemma are the two angora goats who share the orchard with rabbits, chickens, ducks, and geese. Sandy is a Golden Guernsey goat who we hope to breed from this year and who will eventually provide us with milk.

We have a great variety of unusual breeds of poultry including Welsummers, who lay beautiful deep brown eggs, cream legbars who lay pale blue eggs, several types of Peking bantams with feathery feet and fluffy blue and gold Silkie's. This year we will again be hatching lots of chicks,and ducklings.

Jack and Jill the Lop Eared rabbits had four adorable little baby bunnies this year, and we are hoping to have a special rabbit area ready for the summer where they can runabout to their hearts content.

Lily the lamb one of twins who were orphaned and had to be bottlefed, will join our special ewes, along with Lammy our very first and Cuddles whose nature you can guess from her name.Snowflake,visitors named after watching her birth one snowy afternoon. Lucy, Sky, Lizzie,and Annie. We also have the rams Georgie, Boris and Henry.

We participate in Tir Gofal the Welsh agri environment scheme set up to encourage agricultural practices which will protect and enhance the landscapes of Wales, and associated wildlife. We have been very busy restoring hedgerows and preserving our ancient hay meadows and unimproved wetland. The hay meadow is a sight to behold in late July and the perfume from all the different flowers is quite beautiful.

Our most recent project has been to restore a small lake, the area has been cleared of brambles the lake dredged and the edges have been planted with wild flowers suitable for waterside and bog areas. it has been stocked with perch and rudd and will surely be a lovely spot for our guests who like to fish or those who would simply like to just sit and enjoy the peace and tranquility.

The Area
There is plenty to do, take the Celtic Trail cycle path to Llanelli’s coastal park, play golf, or simply enjoy a relaxing country holiday, with plenty of space for children to play and many animals to cuddle and feed.

We are only ten miles from Pembrey Country Park (with it's 8 mile long, award winning beach, dry ski slope and toboggan run) and the Millennium Coastal Park. Also nearby are the National Botanic Garden of Wales and Aberglasney "a garden lost in time". Swansea and the Gower Peninsula, with its picturesque beaches are just a short drive away.

As well as gardens Carmarthenshire boasts some of Wales 's most spectacular castles and historic sites. The landscape that so inspired Dylan Thomas is also home to the Red Kite the rare bird of prey which thrives in the green rolling farmland, untouched hills and valleys of Carmarthenshire.

The Celtic Trail cycle route takes you along 220 miles of the most beautiful and diverse scenery across South and West Wales. Running along the western boundary of the Farm is one of the largest traffic free sections passing through the Millenium Coastal Park then west to Pembury Country Park or east to the Wildfowl and Wetlands Centre at Penclacwydd. From here you can continue on to Swansea and the Gower.

Directions:
From the east leave the M4 at junction 48, turn right at the junction and proceed into Hendy. Take the B4306 signposted Llannon. Follow this road until you reach the T junction in Llannon. Turn right towards Pontyberem bearing left at the fork and after about 2 miles turn right signposted Bryngwenyn Farm. Follow this lane for a short distance and turn left down the track to the farm.

From Carmarthen take the A484 as you leave Carmarthen towards Kidwelly. After about a mile turn left on the B4306 signposted Pontyberem and after a short distance turn left again. When you come into Pontyberem turn left at the T-junction and then immediately right into Llannon Road still on the B4306. Drive up the hill and after about 2 miles you will pass a boarding kennels on the right soon after this take a left turn and then after a short distance turn left down the track to the farm.
