Our Area
Broadhaven and the National Park

Broadhaven is situated in the Pembrokeshire National Park designated in 1952; this status brought with it a measure of protection to a coastline and landscape regarded as one of the finest in Europe. The area is much loved by locals and visitors who come to enjoy the hills, the lakes, the mountains and of course the sea and magnificent coastline. No place within the Park is more than 10 miles from the sea.

One of the best ways to see the park is to walk along the coast path itself which stretches from Amroth in the south for 185 miles to Poppit Sands near Cardigan in the north. It is home to many thousands of sea birds for example the famous puffins after which No 39 Puffin House is named.

Near Broadhaven beach are many seals and a little further out you may see dolphins and porpoises. In 2005 hundreds of dolphins and many whales including fin wales were seen off the Pembs coast. We ourselves were lucky enough to see over 150 dolphins on July 9th near Grassholm. If you appreciate nature at its best then you will love a visit to Pembrokeshire.

Internet access available at Patricks on the sea front which has been renovated and now offers a restaurant and cafe. WiFi also available at The Castle in Little Haven.

In 2005 we opened Old Oak Barn - a renovated stone and slate barn near St Clears which offers self catering accommodation for 4/5 and is set in a wooded valley only 20 minutes from Laugharne in West Wales. Please visit www.oldoakbarn.co.uk We welcome our old visitors from Puffin House who wish to explore a different area of West Wales and new guests wishing to stay somewhere with immense character and charm. Exceptionally nice inside, especially the underfloor heating and slate and wooden flooring. Great attention to detail especially for children. Now with Broadband WiFi at no extra charge!
