Details: TRADITION
The Bower is a traditional Pembrokeshire farmhouse overlooking St. Brides Bay and the offshore islands of Skomer, Ramsey and Grassholm. We are within walking distance of Broad Haven, sandy beach and the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Close by are superb riding facilities, all types of sailing, windsurfing, diving, sea and fresh water fishing and numerous golf courses. This is one of the sunniest parts of Britain, and our mild winters make holidaying all year round a reality.

This is a working sheep farm where we breed and train horses and keep ornamental poultry.

This is the place you have been planning to go to ... ... Where fantasy becomes reality.

Our historic family have been living and working in this area since the sixteenth century and our knowledge is at your disposal.

Our home cooked scrumptious food and friendly, relaxed atmosphere will fill you with cheer and warm your heart.

Your host is a raconteur of repute!

QUALITY
Within a short driving distance are a selection of theme parks and other exciting entertainment for the younger generation.

We love animals and are pleased if you bring your dogs and horses with you on holiday.

We have had distinguished write ups in "Holiday Which" and "The Daily Mail". Quotes from our visitors book include:
"This is something special"
"Came for one night, stayed for six, what more need we say"
"Our children loved feeding the lambs and watching the ducks dive on the pond"
"Now we know where the 'Great' is in Britain".

One family gave their children the option of going to Euro Disney for a week or back to the Bower for the third time - we admired their choice!

It’s no exaggeration to say "We’ve got the lot!" except perhaps for the hoards of holiday makers that many other parts of costal Britain attract - and there is no special "Welsh Welcome" there!

WTB 3 Star Farm with Dragon & Welcome Host Gold Award
We could go on….. but like an excited child telling an exaggerated tale; "You wouldn't believe the rest!"
Just come and see for yourself.

This is the "in" part of Britain to visit from October to April, when the large colony of grey seals are having their pups. When the wind whips the surf into spectacular sights. When Windsurfers and sailors compete all winter. When the winter migratory birds make it an ornithologists paradise. When country sports are at their best - Pembrokeshire has 3 packs of hounds, all hunting 3 days a week providing something different, colourful and interesting to see.

Location
We are situated approximatley in the centre of the National Coast Path between St. Dogmaels and Pendine.
A ten minute walk across our fields to Village (Shops, Pubs and Post Office), Beach and Coast path.
To the North St. Davids Cathedral is a half an hour coastal drive.
North East - half an hours drive takes you to the Preseli Hills passing Scolton Manor Country Park and the Llys-y-fran reservoir.
To the East you get to Picton Castle and the Cleddau Estuary.
South East you cross the famous Box bridge to Pembroke Castle and on to the South Pembrokeshire Beaches.
Southwards takes you to Dale, Marloes Sands and Skomer Island.
There is a coastal bus service to take walkers to and from other beaches around the coast daily.
Broad Haven is also situated on the new Cycle route and there is a bridal path network start at Broadway.

There is a small airport, a main line railway station and a coach terminal in Haverforwest.

Driving to us from England or Cardiff Airport take the M4 to Crosshands then the A40 to Haverfordwest and continuing West
along the B4341 from Haverfordwest towards Broad Haven. After passing through Broadway (approx 5 miles) take the small road on the corner signposted towards Little Haven (single track road with passing places). We are the first entrance on the right (½ mile) where you will see our farm sign and your first spectacular sea view.

THE FARM
Sheep
Pure bred CHAROLLAIS yearling Rams selected from Prize winning stock and grazed commercially on organic grasses - no concentrates. Selected for size, length and proficiency. Limited numbers available so it is essential to order early.

As these are not 'pushed' as lambs they become tough, hardy, very active and long lived Rams.

Horses
We usually bring on a young HUNTER each year and these have consistently been amoungst the top priced horses at the Malvern Festival Sale each Autumn making between £4000 - £5000.

We are now training and racing Point to Point horses and have room to take in more from the outside. Owners can either put thier own horse here or join in a syndicate to part own one - please enquire for details. We race almost every weekend from February to June throughout South and West Wales. Last year we had three of our own all winning well before the season had finished.

We attend most of the major bloodstock sales and are happy to purchase one for you. Like Red Rum, we train on the beach and up our own gallop rising 500m in 6 furlongs. Many of the top National Hunt horses that won the Grand National and the Cheltenham Gold Cup started in Point to Point racing between flags.

Dogs
We breed Labradors and Border Terriers both working and show strain. Puppies are usually available between June and July.
