Things to do
Marloes is situated within The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty.

There is so much to explore along the coastline – all within easy reach from your base at The Old School.

Marloes Sands offers a spectacular mile of sandy beach. There are footpaths from The Old School straight to Marloes Sands, but you can also drive and use the fee-paying car park, if you prefer.

From St Martin’s Haven - about two miles from The Old School- you can take a boat trip to the famous bird islands of Skomer and Skokholm.

For watersport lovers, a visit to the lively resort of Dale is a must. A five minute drive from The Old School, Dale waterfront offers excellent sailing and windsurfing. Dale is the home of the West Wales Wind, Surf and Sailing centre, which runs sailing, windsurfing and surfing instruction and holiday courses for beginners through to advanced. (For more information visit www.surfdale.co.uk)
Dale has a popular waterfront pub, The Griffin Inn, and there is also a café, shop, post office and sailing club.
From Dale there is a daily ‘Sea Safari’ in holiday season, which takes visitors on an exhilarating tour of the surrounding coastline.

Westdale Bay, a beautiful sandy cove surrounded by steep cliffs, is situated at the Western side of Dale.

St Brides Haven, a beautiful fishing cove overlooked by St Brides Castle and ancient church, is a really pleasant 30 minute walk from The Old School or alternatively, it’s a 10 minute trip by car.

The charismatic holiday resort of Little Haven is only a fifteen minute drive from your base at The Old School. At Little Haven you will find a delightful beach, a post-office and shop as well as a choice of good pubs and eateries.

Further along the coast by car, you can visit the popular resorts of Broad Haven and Newgale, both are renowned for their vast stretches of sandy beaches and excellent surf!

At Haverfordwest, 12 miles away, there is plenty of shopping on offer, including a fortnightly Farmers Market at the Riverside Quay. There is also a large, edge-of-town Tesco store.

Milford Haven is 20 minutes from Marloes by car. There is also much to be seen at Milford Docks quayside including the naval museum, the marina and a choice of restaurants and cafes. There is also a large Tesco store.

The Druidstone Hotel at Druidstone Haven is situated between Broad Haven and Newgale and has been consistently listed in The Good Food Guide since 1974.
