This independent yet large hotel has a team of helpful, local staff who aim to ensure that your visit is not only unique, but also personal to you.

Nestled into a wooded hillside overlooking Carmarthen Bay and the famous Stradey Park the views from the hotel capture the ever-changing coast and the tranquillity of the surrounding green environment.

History
This eminent hotel sits in pride of place over-looking Stradey Park and out to the Burry Estuary. The hotel is deeply rooted in the history of the area: the original owner of the Edwardian mansion gave the area its name, Furnace. Alexander Raby, the son of the industrialist of the same name owned Raby’s Furnace and lived in, what is now, the Stradey Park Hotel; an iron bridge connected the two properties.

In 1976 Trust House bought the mansion house and converted it into the premier hotel for the area, making extensive changes along the way including the addition of the bedroom block and the banqueting hall. During this period of refurbishment many cannon balls from the Raby’s Furnace were discovered; these cannon balls being the very weapons regarded as saving Wales from French invasion.

Then in 2000 the hotel was taken over by its current owners who embarked on 2 phases of extensive and loving renovation, which achieved WTB 4 star status for the hotel in 2003. This renovation included an extension to the front of the hotel creating a welcoming and distinct restaurant quite unlike standard hotel dining areas. Refurbishment of all public areas including a new contemporary bar, stylish Brazz restaurant and elegant walkways was completed at the end of 2006.

Sleep
The hotel offers a wide range of comfortable accommodation including spacious family rooms, en-suite twin and double bedrooms, clubrooms and a luxury suite.

All 83 rooms have contemporary en-suites, wireless Internet access, telephone and fax facilities, a hair dryer, tea/coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board plus bathroom essentials. All guests also have access to photocopying and typing facilities, dry-cleaning and laundry, early morning calls, newspapers and express checkouts.

For a little more luxury the clubrooms on the third floor all boast remarkable sea views, king-size beds, plush robes, complimentary wireless Internet access, flat screen televisions and access to the exclusive Rooftop Lounge.

Breakfast is served in the picturesque Brazz restaurant, where a delicious selection of hot and cold dishes can be enjoyed by all hotel guests.
