Solva Sailboats offers courses in sailing and power boating as well as boat yard services such as repairs and maintenance and boatbuilding. The village itself is as pretty as a picture and has a couple of shops and galleries as well as a surprising number of excellent places to eat and drink. The Old Pharmacy being one of the most famous as it is mentioned in the Which Good Food Guide. The menu focuses on fresh local produce and features local seafood, Solva lobster and crab, trout from the river. They also have a large vegetarian menu, as well as local beef and lamb. The Old Printing House is a traditional old fashioned tea rooms offering scrumptious cream teas and homemade cakes and soups, whilst offering a selection of curiosities and collectibles for sale! They also do a very good continental breakfast. For a view overlooking the harbour and river try The Harbour Inn, they have a patio with picturesque views, a sheltered beer garden, and a non-smoking family restaurant. Specials include fresh local crab and lobster in season and other top quality local seafood. On Sundays, there is a carvery lunch.

St David’s is just a few miles from Solva, with its magnificent Cathedral and excellent boat trips from St Justinians.
The beaches of Newgale and Nolton Haven are also just a few miles away and have fantastic swathes of sand as well as excellent surf.
