Oakwood is a fantastic day out for all the family, particularly if you like white knuckle rides (and can also be enjoyed ‘after dark’ for some of the Summer - see below). There’s the 4G-FORCE RIDE, which shoots you upwards at 70kph and then returns you to earth with a bounce! There’s the HYDRO COASTER, which has a highlight of a 45 ft drop into a massive waterbath (at least it drowns out the screams!). There’s the main ROLLER COASTER which comprises 2000ft of steel and has a MORE THAN vertical drop (the UK’s only), a –1G camel hump, a 360 degree roll, a 110 degree flying turn, a vertical loop and a horizontal loop, reaching speeds of up to 95kph! There’s also a wooden roller coaster that’s a bit less scary. However, the ultimate is the VERTIGO ride (which costs a supplementary fee and normally needs to be booked in advance – see below), which is the nearest thing to free flight without jumping from a plane! You can ride it by yourself (if you dare!) or share the cost between 2 or 3 people. For those with less of a strong stomach, there are slides, aqua slides, mini golf and a boating lake (with a diner on the Island in case you need sustenance for the boat trip back!).

For the younger children, there’s also a magician (not Monday’s and Tuesdays (except bank holidays), Punch and Judy, balloon modelling and stilt walking. Children can also JOIN IN with the circus skills workshop.

‘After dark’ then you can enjoy the rides at night AND there is also other live entertainment both on an indoor theatre stage and at the climax at the outdoor stage, with a firework display to finish.

Oakwood has a wide range of restaurants and food and drink outlets and also has a giftshop.

Opening times and dates
Open: Between 13 April and 1 October, 10am – 5pm. Also there are ‘after dark’ openings between 29 July and 31 August until 10pm. (please call Oakwood to check opening times, as they are subject to change). Please note that Oakwood has a large number of school trips between 11-22 July.

Admission:
Adults (10 yrs+): £14.50; junior (3-9 yrs): £13.50; 2 yrs and under FREE; OAPs and disabled: £10.00; pre booked coach parties and groups of over 20 people: £12.50. Family discount tickets: for 4 people: £52.00; for 6 people: £74.00. After dark entry: £10.00. This admission fee covers all rides EXCEPT the Vertigo ride, which, due to limited capacity is extra (£33.00 for a solo flight; £22.00 for 2 people and £11.00 for three flyers). Its advisable to book the Vertigo ride in advance.

Dogs are not allowed but there is a kennel facility just outside the entrance and you can check on your dog whenever you like.

Directions:
Oakwood is clearly signposted on brown tourist information signs from the end of the M4 and throughout Pembrokeshire.

Follow the M4 West to junction 49 and then take the A48 to Carmarthen. Then go towards Fishguard and Haverfordwest. Oakwood is off the A40, 8 miles before reaching Haverfordwest.
